Welcome to this ‘Blockchain For Justice’ Project Overview Presentation.

In this overview, we’ll first highlight the profound issues within many developing and 3rd world nations judicial systems, which are emblematic of broader challenges of mega corruption and an ever widening wealth divide. The core problem is corruption and a systemic bias. The middleclass and the poor suffer from wealth-based discrimination in education, finance, healthcare and justice. The legal system and processes are rigged against them. They face unjust imprisonment, inability to afford bail, and are victims of legal manipulation by those with power and financial means.

The rampant corruption and inefficiency across various sectors, which include military, politics, bureaucracy, law enforcement, and the judiciary, is the root cause of capital flight from these countries.

Military, Politicians and Wealthy powerful individuals manipulate legal outcomes, leading to the victimization of dissenters. Those who want to bring change, such as honest political figures and journalists are targeted.

Vexatious litigation, deliberate court delays, and unethical practices among lawyers and judges further exacerbate these issues, often driving families into poverty not to mention the economic stagnation.

Consumer fraud, public health neglect, exploitation of farmers, and negligence in infrastructure maintenance reflect a broader systemic failure.

The police system is highlighted as particularly corrupt, lacking transparency and accountability. Similarly, the land revenue, customs, and excise departments are riddled with corruption and inefficiency.

Poor quality of legal education and the absence of robust information systems are contributing factors to the judicial system's failures.

Furthermore, biased investigation officers, media indifference, and the lack of a witness protection program benefit and suit the culprits.

Overall, this complex and deeply rooted network exemplifies the dark-side of neocolonialism and neoliberalism. Economic loss, currency devaluation, increased poverty, and a sense of helplessness among the poor, sometimes driving them to extreme actions, has now become a norm in many countries.

The need for systemic reform by direct involvement of citizens in overhauling the flawed systems is the only solution.
