Why Is There So Much Injustice in the 3rd World?
The Problem of Injustice?
In many third world countries, the real crime is not being poor but it is the continued punishment for life of those living in poverty. The poor are frequently unjustly prosecuted. Some even die in jails due to the unfair and lethargic justice system where judgments on their innocence come after their death. In almost 100% of these cases, the innocent and falsely convicted had no money to defend themselves and pay the exorbitant lawyer fees - so the lawyers abandoned them and they suffered in jail.
While the problem of injustice is prevalent in many countries, this paper is directed towards reformations and vigilance of the Pakistan Judicial System. Each country has their own rules and legal processes and the same Blockchain technology with appropriate adjustments can be used to create similar ecosystems that suit the needs of these counties.
The need for citizens' participation and action to aid in the reform and mending the broken judicial systems, not just in Pakistan but in other similar countries is paramount to solve this age-old problem of nepotism, lack of transparency and deliberate abuse and indifference towards injustice by the rich and the powerful. Politicians, bureaucrats, judiciary members, lawyers and oligarchs can no longer be trusted and relied upon to fix the very systems that have served them so well for centuries. The very roots of injustice are in the influence of the billionaires and powerful who have amassed ’special privileges’ in legal systems due to the ‘collective helplessness’ of the citizens.
