Wealth-Based Discrimination

Laws and policies in in many 3rd World nations disadvantage and punish people simply because they are poor. Forcing someone to leave their home because they can’t afford litigation is wealth-based discrimination. Keeping someone in jail prior to trial simply because they cannot afford bail — while those who can afford bail go free — is wealth-based discrimination. Producing false witnesses and evidence in criminal cases by using influence and money is wealth-based discrimination. In all of these examples (and many more), people are penalized just for a lack of financial means.

In case of capital crimes against the poor, such as rape, murder and other atrocities, most of the time only press releases and statements are issued by the Inspector Generals of Police or higher authority that ‘a notice has been taken’ but the matter is almost always buried afterwards with no follow-up.
