# ElevenLabs - Prime Voice

ElevenLabs is a AI voice technology research company, developing the most compelling AI speech software for publishers and creators. Their goal is to instantly convert spoken audio between languages.

They have built new text-to-speech models which rely on high compression and context understanding to render human speech ultra-realistically. Their AI tools provide the necessary quality for voicing news, newsletters, books and videos. They also offer a suite of tools for voice cloning and designing synthetic voices, aimed at providing our users with new creative outlets.

ElevenLabs research powers the platform's current features but it also contributes to realizing our ultimate goal of instantly converting spoken audio between different spoken languages. The AI dubbing tool, once released, will let users automatically re-voice any audio or video in a different spoken language, all while preserving the original speaker's voice.

ElevenLabs mission is to make 'on-demand multilingual audio' support a reality across education, streaming, audiobooks, gaming, movies, and even real-time conversation.

ElevenLabs was founded in 2022 by two friends: Piotr, an ex-Google machine learning engineer, and Mati, an ex-Palantir deployment strategist. It's backed by Credo Ventures, Concept Ventures and other angel investors, founders, strategic operators and former executives from the industry.

Currently they have two AI Voice Tools, Speech Synthesis and VoiceLab.

**Speech Synthesis:**

Speech Synthesis is a AI tool lets you create speech from text. You can use their Generative Text-to Speech technology to generate realistic, captivating speech in a wide range of languages.

**VoiceLab:**

VoiceLab is a AI toolkit that lets you create entirely new synthetic voices from scratch. You can clone your own voice or a voice you have a permission and rights to. Only you have exclusive access to the voices you create.
